Do I need to buy additional baggage for my return trip, or connecting trip?

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 6:06 AM

No. Additional baggage only needs to be purchased once per booking. You can add two extra pieces of luggage, charged at $10 each, to your booking before you travel.

If your itinerary includes:
  • Connecting Greyhound services
  • Multiple travel sectors on a pass
  • A return journey booked under the same reservation

Your additional baggage allowance will apply across your entire booked trip or pass. There's no need to purchase additional baggage separately for each leg of your journey or trip on your pass.

A few things to keep in mind:
  • Generous Standard baggage is already included with every Greyhound booking.
  • Additional baggage can be added after booking and before departure.
  • Bicycles and surfboards are charged differently, and can be added after your booking - Can I bring a bike or surfboard on a Greyhound?
  • Prams and unmotorised wheelchairs travel free of charge
  • Additional baggage purchased applies across your booked journey, including connecting Greyhound services and return travel on the same booking.
  • All checked baggage must weigh 20kg or less per item.
  • Additional baggage remains subject to available space.
  • Need more than standard and additional luggage? Greyhound Freight charges apply.

If you're unsure how much luggage you'll be bringing, we recommend adding any extra baggage before your travel date to ensure a smoother journey.

If you'd prefer, our Customer Experience team can also help add baggage to your booking. Please note that service fees may apply when changes are made through our team, so using Manage Booking is often the easiest option. To speak to one of our team members, please review our Contact Us options.
