How do I add extra baggage?

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 6:05 AM

The quickest way is through Manage Booking, where you can add extra baggage to your existing booking online at any time before departure.

You can add two extra pieces of luggage, charged at $10 each, to your booking before you travel.

The best part? You only need to purchase your additional baggage once per booking. If your itinerary includes connecting Greyhound services or a return journey booked on the same reservation, or you've booked a pass, your additional baggage allowance will apply across your booked travel. You won't need to purchase it separately for each sector/leg or each trip on a pass.

Before travelling, make sure any additional baggage has been added to your booking and that all luggage complies with our baggage size and weight requirements.

A few things to keep in mind:
  • Generous Standard baggage is already included with every Greyhound booking.
  • Additional baggage can be added after booking and before departure.
  • Bicycles and surfboards are charged differently, and can be added after your booking - Can I bring a bike or surfboard on a Greyhound?
  • Prams and unmotorised wheelchairs travel free of charge
  • Additional baggage purchased applies across your booked journey, including connecting Greyhound services and return travel on the same booking.
  • All checked baggage must weigh 20kg or less per item.
  • Additional baggage remains subject to available space.
  • Need more than standard and additional luggage? Greyhound Freight charges apply.

If you're unsure how much luggage you'll be bringing, we recommend adding any extra baggage before your travel date to ensure a smoother journey.

If you'd prefer, our Customer Experience team can also help add baggage to your booking. Please note that service fees may apply when changes are made through our team, so using Manage Booking is often the easiest option. To speak to one of our team members, please review our Contact Us options.
