Can I bring extra luggage on a Greyhound?

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 6:04 AM

Absolutely. Every Greyhound booking already includes a generous luggage allowance:
  • Two checked bags up to 20kg each
  • One carry-on bag up to 8kg
If you need a little more room, you can add up to two additional bags for $10 per bag, per booking, per person.

You can add extra luggage:

The best part? You only need to purchase additional baggage once per booking, per person. If your itinerary includes connecting Greyhound services, return travel on the same booking, or a Greyhound Pass, your additional baggage allowance will apply across your booked journey.
A few things to keep in mind:
  • All checked baggage must weigh 20kg or less per item
  • Additional baggage is subject to available space
  • Prams and unpowered wheelchairs travel free of charge
  • Surfboards and bicycles are charged separately - see here
  • Travelling with more than your standard and additional baggage allowance? Freight charges may apply.

We also recommend labelling your luggage before travelling. You can download and print our free luggage tags.

Important: Greyhound is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen luggage. We recommend reviewing our Terms and Conditions and considering travel insurance before you travel.
