Are Travel Packages refundable?

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 6:47 AM

Generally, Travel Packages are non-refundable if you change your mind, your plans change, or you no longer wish to travel, subject to any rights and remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.

A refund is also not available if:

  • You don't attend a booked tour, experience or accommodation inclusion.
  • You cancel after changing the date of an inclusion.
  • You cancel after changing an inclusion to a deferred booking.
  • Your Travel Package has expired.

There are some exceptions. If a tour, experience or accommodation provider cancels an included service, you'll generally be able to choose between a new date or a refund of the discounted value of that inclusion.

If a tour is cancelled due to a natural disaster or another event outside the control of both you and the supplier, you may be able to choose between:

  • Rebooking to another date, or
  • A refund of the discounted value of the affected inclusion, less a 10% cancellation fee.

No cancellation fee applies where you're entitled to a refund or another remedy under Australian Consumer Law.

Good to know

  • Travel Packages are generally non-refundable for a change of plans or personal circumstances.
  • Refund eligibility relates to the affected tour, experience or accommodation inclusion, not necessarily the entire Travel Package.
  • Alternative dates may be available if an included provider cancels a service.
  • Different rights may apply under Australian Consumer Law.
